Gratitude Burlap Banner and Ragamuffin Wreath

DSC08908

Remember I said I was going to do a burlap banner? I finished it last week but am just getting around to posting.

See that cute ragamuffin wreath too? Yeah made that a few weeks ago and am just getting around to showing it off too! Here’s a close up. Ignore the cast off parts from other projects sitting on the porch! hehe

DSC08909I followed the ragamuffin garland tutorial here but did it around an embroidery hoop!!! :)

Have you noticed everyone puts wreaths on the front door but we don’t often see them on the sliding glass door! All I did was use a suction cup to hang it from! :)

Here’s a close up of the banner too :)

That’s 2 projects to share down! :)

Linked up to these PARTIES!:

I’m a Copy Cat! And some sneak peeks :)

So my Motivation Monday post REALLY Motivated me this week! I have already copied TWO of the projects I featured! Imitation is the best form of flattery so these ladies should be flattered! They deserve it! Check out what I did:

DSC08767

Yes that is a Copy Cat of Cheri’s! I had already bought an old book with browned pages that I was waiting for just the right project and this was it! So that is all the natural coloring! No glaze for me :)

DSC08768DSC08769

Ah YES! I absolutely LOVE it! This chair is in the corner of my dining room so it’s just perfect! It’s a copy cat from Tiffany and Linda. I stuffed it with plastic grocery bags like Linda did. You can’t tell can ya? :) No one is going to use the pillow for anything since it is scratchy burlap so it doesn’t matter. And I needed to find something to do with all those darn things!

And this is a project I did that didn’t necessarily copy anyone in particular :)

DSC08770

I just painted the M on. I don’t have one of those fancy Cricut machines yet to cut out vinyl letters. But Santa if you are reading this… I would like one for Christmas :)

Here is just something I threw up. Not so much a project but I will have to find a way to pretty it up a bit.

So what did I do today?? My Mommy and I went thrifting. I will give you a sneak peak and post everything on Thrift Store Thursday since I have a few more days to shop! :)

Super Simple Fall Lampshade

image

Ok I know 3 posts in one day… WOW… but I had to link up for the FINAL fall Festival at DIY Show Off!

If you saw my earlier post I told you I was looking for motivation. I got motivated enough to do one of the projects I talked about. The lampshade didn’t look fallish… but it inspired me!

So here is what I did:

Sparkly leaf garland

DSC08757

Drapery Clips (I had these tiny ones from Ikea that I didn’t get to use for what I bought them for)

DSC08759

I cut off individual leaves and punched holes in them. Then strung them through the loop on the clips. Then Clipped them onto the lampshade!

Here it is:

Here’s the other lampshade

I used sparkly leaves so that they shimmer in the light. Here is a close up of one leaf

Motivate Me Monday - Fall

For this weeks addition of Motivate me Monday – Fall Projects!

I took down Halloween… but haven’t quite put up anymore fall yet. Lost my motivation. I know I better get on it because it will be time to decorate for Christmas soon!

So I turn to my bloggy friends again :) To find some quick and easy decorating inspiration.

Here is what I have found so far: (Click on pictures for links to sources!)

I am IN LURVE with this monogrammed punkin from “It’s So Very Cheri” Seriously will probably be doing this project today!

image

Then this cute little pillow from “Craftaholics Anonymous” This will look adorable in the chair I have in the corner of my dining room!

image

Also saw these pillows on “la *T* da”. I will be doing the brown paint like she did.

image

I featured one of these last week with my party motivation. But it’s worth showing again. This one is from “Under the Table & Dreaming” She really has an INCREDIBLE tutorial for it! I will be making one to replace the spooky banner I had up for Halloween.

image

I saw this lamp on “Blissfully Domestic” I know what you are thinking. Where is the fall? Sometimes I get my inspiration from something that would not be an exact replica. You see – wouldn’t this be awesome with leaves tied on to the rings? Seriously would be gorg! I will do it and show ya :)

And that’s what I have for now. So link up and give me some more motivation people!!! :) I need it!

Happy Halloween!

DSC08677

We carved our pumpkin today! That’s us carving it :)

Here’s a couple of what it looked like done :) An “M” monogram for our last name. That way I can have it up past Halloween.

DSC08679

We lit it with a battery powered lantern.

Enjoy your day! Come back tomorrow and see my cute new blog redesign! Have to turn from Halloween to fall!

Watch out for the crows..... and the bumble bee!!!

The DIY Show Off

I'm finally linking up to the DIY Fall Festival!!

This halloween I started out with lots of motivation. I was excited to decorate and craft... but somewhere I lost it. So there are a few things I didn't do that I wanted to or normally do. But here is what I have.

White pumpkin on black urn in my kitchen

Graveyard on the counter

Black glittered skull from dollar store. Placed on candle holder with plate and a cheese dome over. Two pumpkins. One in a nest. (wanted that to be a white pumpkin too....one of the things I didn't get done I was talking about :)
.

Spooky banner hanging from curtain rod

Dining wall - Got wood skull from micheals and glittered it myself. Dollar store skulls in left clear vase, crow on candles, and candy in apothecary jar. (I wish there wasn't such a reflection in the mirror! It's destracting)

Close up of candy jar.

Crow

Skulls

My potions that you saw in a previous post

Put a white glitter skull from dollar store in my fav bird cage and draped some spooky fabric over

Dollar store frame, craft paper, wood letters from goodwill and some glitter mad this cute little boo sign

My fav fall card. From a local artist. Set in an antique frog on a silver tray. This is one of the only fall - non halloween touches so far

Dollar store pumpkin, painted white and placed on a little metal stand. There's another one of those darn crows!!!

These crows are so great. They are from the dollar tree and just add a subtle halloween touch wherever you need one - I wish I had gotten more and now I can't seem to find any.

I love white "ghost" pumpkins

And the cutest halloween decoration of all

That's my dog Issabella dressed up as a bumble bee :) Is she not the cutest thing you have ever seen! You can tell she doesn't like the hood on her head in the first picture. Once it's off she thinks she is the coolest thing around!

As I have said before food is part of making a house a home. So here are some ideas for fun food this Halloween. You can click on the pictures for links to recipes!! I try to show recipes that are not just the sweet ones that you see everywhere. This should be almost a complete meal and cover all the food groups

~Spiderweb Tomato Soup!~
I have done this before and it's fun. I used a pumpkin for a serving bowl! Also if you use soup from a can it makes this SOUPER Easy! :)

~Mummy Hot Dogs~

Bone Breadsticks

~Pumpkin Veggie Tray~
Don't forget to eat your veggies!!

~Carmel and chocolate Apples~
A classic must
