Motivation Monday

Ok people. Am I the ONLY person NOT ready to begin thinking and crafting Christmas yet?? Well I am not ready… but this week may be about getting ready. This week I am looking for pretty organization! My goal this week is to get my house in order so that when the christmas starts rolling in and taking over it won’t get overwhelming! :)

Here are some of the ideas I love. Don’t forget to link yours up at the bottom!

My Thrifty decor chick shows us how to make labels out of… PAINT CHIPS! Yes that means FREE people! PLUS it means you can match your label colors EXACTLY to paint colors in your room!

image

Chris at Just a Girl did this in her kitchen cabinet… It just looks so organized to me! I actually copied this one already! :)

image

She also did this in her GARAGE! Seriously that is her garage people! I am SOOOOOOOO jealous! I want my garage to look that gorgeous and be that organized!

image

Have you seen these?? I love them! Of course I have already made these myself too. Saved a pretty penny :) I will show you mine in a later post. It made it so I can store the dog and cat food out in the open and so opened a drawer where it was before to store things I can’t store in such pretty containers for everyone to see

image

Check out this magnetic chalkboard from Spacey Lacy! I am planning to make one for my kitchen. It’s been on my brain for awhile now. I am planning on using metal and painting it with chalkboard paint.

Wow is about all I can say about this…seriously… I would kill for that! More pictures if you click on the picture – not sure of original source.

Thrift Store Thursday!

It’s Thrift Store Thursday! I had a really good week at the Thrift Store this week!

I found this adorable tart burner! It is so darn caauute! It was like $2.99 and since it was an electronic it was 30% off :) I also got that pretty bowl next to it. I needed a pretty new salad bowl! I have been keeping an eye out and finally found this!

DSC08766

I got this nice CHEAP side table. My DH needed a larger one by his recliner. I was going to buy one like this at Target or something but was lucky to find this $3.99 one at Goodwill and furniture was 30% off. SCORE! You will see next week how I make it pretty :)DSC08764

I also found these two little milk glass like plates and they have dots around the outside which is my new love! They were $0.99 a piece. This ADORABLE apothecary type jar I fell in love with! We all know apothecary jars are all the rage right now. This one has silver top and base! AND to top it off a little bird! Two of my FAVORITE things that I have everywhere! Don’t you love finding one great piece that brings together multiple things in your decorating!! Next to that is also some rub on letters that were $0.99

DSC08765

Not pictured:

2 fluffy throw pillows in the perfect color!! (Already washed and on the couch before they could get there pic taken! :) (They were also 30% off – I think they were $3.99?? each before the 30% off)

1 coleman lantern/flashlight

It was a really great week! Everything but flashlight was one trip to one store! I only went to one other store this week and all I got there was the flashlight!

So this shows you can get great stuff at Thrift Stores and not have to go everyday!!

I’m a Copy Cat! And some sneak peeks :)

So my Motivation Monday post REALLY Motivated me this week! I have already copied TWO of the projects I featured! Imitation is the best form of flattery so these ladies should be flattered! They deserve it! Check out what I did:

DSC08767

Yes that is a Copy Cat of Cheri’s! I had already bought an old book with browned pages that I was waiting for just the right project and this was it! So that is all the natural coloring! No glaze for me :)

DSC08768DSC08769

Ah YES! I absolutely LOVE it! This chair is in the corner of my dining room so it’s just perfect! It’s a copy cat from Tiffany and Linda. I stuffed it with plastic grocery bags like Linda did. You can’t tell can ya? :) No one is going to use the pillow for anything since it is scratchy burlap so it doesn’t matter. And I needed to find something to do with all those darn things!

And this is a project I did that didn’t necessarily copy anyone in particular :)

DSC08770

I just painted the M on. I don’t have one of those fancy Cricut machines yet to cut out vinyl letters. But Santa if you are reading this… I would like one for Christmas :)

Here is just something I threw up. Not so much a project but I will have to find a way to pretty it up a bit.

DSC08771

So what did I do today?? My Mommy and I went thrifting. I will give you a sneak peak and post everything on Thrift Store Thursday since I have a few more days to shop! :)

Super Simple Fall Lampshade

image

Ok I know 3 posts in one day… WOW… but I had to link up for the FINAL fall Festival at DIY Show Off!

If you saw my earlier post I told you I was looking for motivation. I got motivated enough to do one of the projects I talked about. The lampshade didn’t look fallish… but it inspired me!

So here is what I did:

Sparkly leaf garland

DSC08757

Drapery Clips (I had these tiny ones from Ikea that I didn’t get to use for what I bought them for)

DSC08759

I cut off individual leaves and punched holes in them. Then strung them through the loop on the clips. Then Clipped them onto the lampshade!

Here it is:

Here’s the other lampshade

I used sparkly leaves so that they shimmer in the light. Here is a close up of one leaf

Motivate Me Monday - Fall

For this weeks addition of Motivate me Monday – Fall Projects!

I took down Halloween… but haven’t quite put up anymore fall yet. Lost my motivation. I know I better get on it because it will be time to decorate for Christmas soon!

So I turn to my bloggy friends again :) To find some quick and easy decorating inspiration.

Here is what I have found so far: (Click on pictures for links to sources!)

I am IN LURVE with this monogrammed punkin from “It’s So Very Cheri” Seriously will probably be doing this project today!

image

Then this cute little pillow from “Craftaholics Anonymous” This will look adorable in the chair I have in the corner of my dining room!

image

Also saw these pillows on “la *T* da”. I will be doing the brown paint like she did.

image

I featured one of these last week with my party motivation. But it’s worth showing again. This one is from “Under the Table & Dreaming” She really has an INCREDIBLE tutorial for it! I will be making one to replace the spooky banner I had up for Halloween.

image

I saw this lamp on “Blissfully Domestic” I know what you are thinking. Where is the fall? Sometimes I get my inspiration from something that would not be an exact replica. You see – wouldn’t this be awesome with leaves tied on to the rings? Seriously would be gorg! I will do it and show ya :)

image

And that’s what I have for now. So link up and give me some more motivation people!!! :) I need it!

I was Featured!

I was featured at the DIY showoff! My monogrammed carved pumpkin! Go see the other great projects here!

My First Give Away!!!!

Ok friends… I’m pretty sure I am coming down with the swine flu… :( Not feeling good and it’s driving me absolutely crazy since I want to be crafting and doing things. I do not like having idol hands. So I have a fun give away for you that will occupy my hands :)

I have been having tons of fun playing with graphics for blogs. So I would like to create a banner and possibly more for the first 5 friends who link up with mcklinky’s blogs.

This way I can keep my hands busy while resting.

You have seen mine! Here are a couple others I have done.

Motivation Monday – Nature Party

fall - Motivation Monday

I LOVE blog parties. So I decided I need to have one! I am going to TRY to do this every Monday… Hopefully I can keep it up.

Each week I will pick a theme I need motivation for – could be fall, living room, organizing etc. Then I will have a Mr. linky for you to give a link to a post you have on your blog that relates to the topic. The next day I will chose some to feature!

This will be great because on Monday’s I always need some Motivation. This week I am going to start by showing some blogs I have already been inspired by for this topic.

I am having a 50th Birthday party for my mom on Saturday. I need some ideas and motivation! I am doing a natural theme. So I turned to my bloggy friends and went snooping :) Here is what I have found! (Click on pictures to be taken to their posts detailing projects)

Cottage instincts just did a Birthday Party for her DD. It is sooooo the same theme I want to create! Here is the cutlery! I was so motivated by this I have this done! :) I did mine all in twine. What a great way to dress up plastic cutlery!!! Looks so sophisticated!

She also did this awesome table runner which I will also copy :) Only mine will have 50 instead of 20! PERFECT to bring in the 50 age without those tacky things from the party store!!

Then I came across this over at Crafty Daisy. Instead of Give thanks I will make one that says Happy Birthday! LOVE IT!!! WAY Better than the cheesy ones! Of course I will be making the give thanks one for my house ;)

2009_09200025

I also found this picture the other day which would probably make an awesome centerpiece… unfortunately I didn’t save where it was from or can’t seem to find it so if you know tell me and I will give credit where credit is due!

6a00d8341c019753ef0120a5b20d7c970b-320wi

Then there is Joy from Joys of Home who I LOVE!!! I am always so inspired by her and have posted about her inspiring me before. Here are some moss balls she made… now that is woodsy and natural! I probably already have everything I need for it too ;)

So here is a design board of all of that. The one nature thing my mom really likes that I don’t have is mushrooms. I need a crafty project to incorporate those. I also need inspiration to display some old photos of her. I was thinking maybe clothes pinned on twine? not sure yet…

party theme

So link up! Motivate me! And this is my first party so celebrate with me!! :)
